Commander 3000. Trim up switch has stopped working. I assume it is the sending unit going bad as the Trailer button still works fine.

2nd issue is that when I start the boat and put it into a high idle with the neutral button engaged it has begun jumping into gear after a moment and I have to grab it and return it to idle.

Any thoughts or experts on this control/throttle box?

Sounds like your trim limit switch on the drive has gone bad

What drive?

Sounds like your shift cable needs to be adjusted, or need to grease up the control box. Put the shift in neutral, wiggle it a bit in neutral while watching the shift plate. Now without starting use throttle only and move it forward while watching the shift plate, did shift cable move?

Same boat you have, '95 captiva...7.4 w/ Bravo One.

Sounds like my diagnosis on the 1st issue is spot on. Ill try your suggestion for problem 2 and see if I can get it to clear up.

Check the measurement on the shift plate should be 3 inches. Don't bother with the other two items in the pic
