Just picked up a new little project (like the title says). I will post pics when I get it home.
Doesn't need a lot boat wise motors both the 25 hp and the trolling are evinrudes are old but all were cheaply priced.

my question is the wood transom on the inside and outside are bad. the inside has 2 alum boxes in the corners ( I think are filled with foam).
is there a trick to getting the inside transom board out and then replaced with a new one. Yes pics will follow.

Looks like you need to remove the transom corner caps and the aluminum channel along the top of the transom wood to get the old out.

You can post more then 1 pix per reply

Just make sure you dont use and remove all PT wood. And take your time removing the cap so you dont break it taking it off so you can reuse it!

have another problem(besides posting pics) the tag states that it is a 1983 evinrude 25hp (no spark) but when I try to look up the coils they do not look like what's on the engine???

If they are welded on, grind them off. Then without being actually there to see them, I would think I would drill new holes to rivet or screw them back on. Unless you know an aluminum welder of course.

A few pics of the engine and cowling in the outboard section might be able to help you narrow the year question down.
