So the dark is the PB? Then yes, I would use CSM over that repair on the outside not 1708.

Yes the dark area is the pb
After i grinded the area down you can see the fiberglass from the hull end then you see the pb then the hull again
I was thinking the 1708 over the whole area as its pretty low now to build up faster
I just dont want that area to ever open up

Nice project. I would stick with CSM on the outside since you already have 1708 on the inside. It will fair out much easier. If you need thickness, I would lay up a couple layers in one round.

Thanks again i ended up doing 3 layers of csm and its slightly higher than the surrounding gel coat so i just have to grind it a little and fair it off
Hopefully tommorow i can get the foam poured in
Tommorows supposed to be 80degrees
I bought two 16lb kits of 2lb foam
And its supposed to yeild 8cu ft
Is that a realistic number to expect? I have 15 cu ft to fill so i hope i have enough

I would put put your foam out in the sun, the warmer it is the more it will expand. It is finnicky stuff and really likes heat. And make sure you have good way to pour it in the cavity you want to fill. It goes from liquid to foam in a matter of seconds.

I was probably about a quart short at the bow
The foam didnt quite come up to the top of the last 3 pour in holes...now should i order more or will this be ok?

Youre definitely doing the right thing by filling to the top with foam. No voids = happy days!!

Im going to be mounting back to back seats on the boat
I really dont want to put screws through the new deck ....what are my options here
I was thinking maybe tab in sine wood to the deck to screw the seats into so down the road if the wood does rot i can just cut it out and put a new one in and the deck will never be compromised
Any suggestions here??

I kind of did something along those lines. I have pedestal bases in the Chap. Glued fiberglassed circles to the deck which the pedestal bases screw to. This way, bases aren't mounted directly to the deck with penetrations water could get in. Water would need to rise to the thickness of the plywood circles to penetrate the deck.

My hull was in really good shape but I had a bunch of extra holes in the transom And a large grind through I got it all finished up tonight and primed I do autobody for a living and this is much easier than a car The hull and cap is now ready to be sanded and painted

Trying my best archbuilder
Ok ....4 gallons of resin later i got the deck glassed with 2 layers of csm
So far this has been the biggest pain in the a@&
But im glad its over
I just have to bulk heads to tab in an the cap can go back on
Has anyone ever painted the cap while its off the hull?
It would be a lot easier to paint on my boat

Haven't painted a cap off, but I did paint the cap on mine....but I didn't need to pull it off. I would save a lot of taping and would be easier. I don't see why you couldn't do it that way. What paint are you planning on using?
