Hi, I am new to this. I picked up this motor for my 71 glaspar for $75. The serial# is 2716316. I think that means it is a 68 am I right? I need to know what spark plugs it takes and it needs a prop. Is the gas/oil ratio 50 to 1? It has been sitting for 9 years so I need to go though the motor snd I know I will have a lot of more questions. Any help is appresiated. Thank you.

Welcome to iboats
That serial # shows up as a 1969. WOT RPM range 4800 - 5300. Spark plug L19V. Max timing 38 degrees BTDC.
50:1 using TCW-3 oil.

Prop choice depends on the boat, load and intended use. Requires a tachometer

Thank you for all the information. It will be used for fishing and pleaser. It is going on 14 foot gglaspar and used in the columbia river. Current can be strong. I will get a tach

Before you do anything test the compression, Your other post stated it has set for years with no sparkplugs installed...if compression is below 100psi it wont run worth a dang. Check the internal wiring harness as they rot to pieces.....don't end up putting $600 in a $400 motor.Dont take anyones word about compression results until you see for yourself
