Hi!
I have inherited an old outboard engine Yamaha 40 BE 676BS 100702 and a boat.
The problem I have is that the wiring to the red(or orange) switch to the right of the choke on the motor is not fully connected.
1.)Is this switch the killing switch?
The switch does have three connections. Two of them have cables connected . These are connected to the same potential and the two cables goes to the ignition coils and also up below the flywheel I think . The third connection is not connected. If I push the switch the three connections are all connected to each other(closed).
2.)Can anyone tell me what should be connected to the third connection.
3.)Should it be ground?
4.)Does anyone have a wiring diagram?
5.) What year model is this motor?
Sorry for not using the right words, Br Hans
PS. Does anyone know why I am not allowed to upload pictures?
