i just rebuilt.my carb and its dumping fuel from the venturi straight down the barrels while cranking. what did i.miss?

my guess is your float is not set right, float is stuck, or you forgot the needle

just double checked and float was not adjusted right. that problem is fixed. now i can get it to idle but as soon as i give it throttle it dies out

your idle circuit or your accelerator pump circuit is not clean

run a fishing line in all passages to make sure that there is nothing blocking them. I like to run copper wire

Can you slowly give it throttle and with that will it increase speed? If it does this, then did you replace and install the accelerator pump correctly?

If you cannot give it throttle slowly without it dying, then recheck the float level it may be to low

i beleve i did. thw accelerator pump is pretty straight forward i think. it just goes in the shaft and into the hole. and when a push the linkage by hand a steady stream of fuel comes out

My first thought is the float level was to high and it was flooding, now its to low. The pic below shows what is bent to adjust the float and how. The paper work that came with the carb should show how to adjust.

okay ill give it a shot. i wont be able to run it for a week or 2 i am in the middle of a bellows job now
