Just a simple question. How often should I replace trailer coupler. Mine seems original from 1989...

IMHO if it isn't broke don't fix it. Is it all rusted and falling apart? Any problems with it?

Why are you thinking about changing it? Is it giving you problems? Even a rusty coupler can be cleaned up and refinished. Now it it is rusted through, then it does need replaced. So provide some reasons. :noidea:

Mine is from 1966. Greased, oiled - Still works as it's supposed to.

I regularly use even older. If its secures to the balll hitch, and latches down, GTG.

Dont forget to check and replace the safety chains and the connection, at the trailer and your hitch, as needed.

Sometimes with age and rust they get loose on the ball.....but most have an adjusting nut you can tighten to remove play. No need to replace unless rusted away.
