Ok got my gimbal ring replaced and new gimbal bearing installed. Ready to install bellows and shift cable. Should I clamp bellows first on bellhousing or on transom. Should I hook water pickup hose up first then u joint bellows or bellows first then water pickup. Also on the shift cable do i thread it in bellhousing all the way or back off a couple threads. That might be for gen 2. Also on the bellows the front goes towards front of boat correct

Shift cable is threaded in so that NO MORE than 2 threads left showing. flush is ok
The main bellow says "top FWD and Top AFT

Although the book says transom end first (Uni joint bellows), I find it easier to put the bell housing end on first, and push the transom end on from the inside of the bellows.

But that may be just me. :D

?????

Gen II, by the book, gimbal/transom end first. Then do the bell housing end.

Alpha 1 (gen 1), book says gimbal/transom end first, but I'm quicker and find it easier to put the bell housing end on, then push the bell housing as far forward as possible and push the bellows onto the gimbal/transom from the inside of the bellows.

As I said, that's just me.
