By 2003 the ECM should of been a motorola 555 ecm which should be a different design than the MEFI style ECM. Early 2002 maybe.
Can you share the info you're finding vs what you have?

OBD has a scan tool and software for MEFI 3 for $200. He said I need to see what is going on directly from the engine though the diagnostic port. His kit comes with an adapter, cable and software to show what is happening on a laptop. He was rambling on with a lot of tech stuff but I think he basically said if watching the tach on the PC if it wasn't showing RPM on screen the ECM had some kind of ignition issue which doesn't show on his equipment on his bench. I "think" he said the depending on the tach and how it was wired that you can still get RPM on the tach but still have the ECM ignition issue.

Well, here I am as of today. I received the ECM's back from Bob at OBD today. He got them last Thursday, ran them and called me Friday. He was very pleasant and I could actually understand him which is a customer service plus these days. I was going to email them today for tracking info and they showed up on my porch. Pretty good from CA to KY. I have to give Bob a pat on the back for his customer service. He also wrote down some notes from his scan. Anywho his biggest recommendation was to scan both for RPM. I went ahead and ordered his MEFI 3 scan program since I keep a laptop on the boat.
