I'm looking for some assistance resolving my smartcraft issue. I'm getting a - - - - display on my square Mercury SC1000 system monitor v1.02. I've tried CAL2 and changing the engine position on all 4 options and its still giving me this error. I'm running out of ideas and need another set of eyes on what the problem can be.

Engine is a 2014 Mercury 90 4s EFI with yellow terminator in its factory CAN location. The engine harness has a built-in smartcraft attachment which I then plug into my system monitor gauge. The gauge receives power but no readings from the ECM.

Was it working and then had the problem or is this a new install?

Was working until my third time out with the boat. Ive checked the 15amp fuse on the motor and wasnt blown. Im thinking it maybe the factory resistors that malfunctioned. How do you test the resistors?

Don't know how to test it, but my thought is something became disconnected, could be the cable, pin or even inside the gauge.

that's exactly how mine is setup with 1 gauge. I unplugged everything and reconnected from the engine harness to the tach, checked the pins and still no reading from the ECM.

Think the next step is have the motor scanned for codes.
