You shouldn't need the regulator if you have a good pump. I don't think much of GLM either, but instead of getting another pump, just get the regulator. I use Aittex or Merc, Airtex makes the pumps for Merc but I also use BBC pumps

Another thought, do you have the spacer installed (item 5) between the pump and block?

OK so no one wanted the boat or offered to little figured that would happen long story short rebuilt engine it dropped a valve Now the question i have is i want to go 4 barrel now not 2 barrel but i really have no idea what intake to get there is so many different part numbers not sure what fits mine block number is K196500 12 bolt intake can i use a auto intake? i know they dont last as long? if so what would i use i see ones for diff years does it matter? or what marine one should i use i need some opinions.

With 12 bolt intake it is a non-vortec motor. I would suggest going to a junk yard and find a 1995 or later 5.7. Then change out the head gasket and core plugs for brass or stainless. Either that or find a similar engine in a donor boat. A 3 barrel can give you more HP but without vortec heads it no so much.

Without changing the heads and possibly the cam, a four barrel is not going to do much other than use more gas.

Hey AllDodge, the only 3 bbl I know of is an older Holley, back bore is just one big oval hole with two venturi nozzles and vac secondaries, has like 950 cfm, probably overkill on this one... I know you meant 4bbl but had to razz you at least a little! ;)

The original engine is already rebuilt and in he boat i just need a intake and carb the 2barrel i have sucks as you know i am trying to find what 4 barrel intake and carb to get and what automotive/marine ones fit. I have been looking up automotive ones i know i have to change it more often but they are way cheaper i just dont know what years fit.

1957-1985 is a 12 bolt intake, with all bolts at an angle. 1986-1995 is a 12 bolt intake with the center bolts at a different angle the outer bolts.

1996 and newer vortec manifolds have 8 vertical bolts

Just came across a epicly cheap EFI engine with vortec heads intake fuel injection ect that i could not pass up it sucked in water due to bad risers if i rebuild that engine the risers i have off my old engine/heads should still fit correct? they are brand new or do vortex heads use diff risers? if not i am just going to go buy new intake and carb for orig engine and get it over with for now.

Exhaust is the same bolt pattern, so no issue. A motor which has hydrolocked while running can break or bend connecting rods among other things
