1996 Evinrude 225 wont stay on

Engines turns over starts but at the moment the starter kiks out it dies . I^ve put 12 volt on the yellow/red wire at the powet pack it start and stays on . What could be the problem that the yellow/red isnt suplying the 12 volt to the power pack .

Check the power coil on stator (orange wires) and if ok bad powerpack

stator is generating the 12v . Bad stator = no 12 volts

It only feeds pack when starter is engaged, when engine rpm is fast enough the power coil on stator supplies the voltage to pack.

I have taken the stator on the good motor and put it on the one that doesnt want to start i stil doesnt stay on . Only if i keep the starter turning it will stay on . It has new power pack trigger and stator of the other motor that works perfectly
