Hi guys,
With regards to winterization, I have attempted to try and do it myself (3.0 Alpha 1) (quite possibly a big mistake). I figured if I'm going to own a boat I might as well learn to work on it myself, maybe make myself a little more useful.
So I winterized the engine by connecting muffs to the water intake on the outboard rigged to a hose and a bottle of RV antifreeze. The intake took the antifreeze and I seen the antifreeze come out of the exhaust on the back end of the boat. I also purged the block and manifold tubes ant the thermostat until antifreeze was coming out of the thermostat (hope this make sense).
The issue is the video I watched didn't mention that the block and manifold drain plugs need to be removed and drained (I know, I'm not very smart).
So I realized that this needs to be done. Today I opened the manifold and block drain plugs. When I started to drain them, I believe only antifreeze was coming out of them (especially the bloat). The fluid that was coming out of the block was very pink. The fluid that came out of the manifold was pink but I couldn't tell how dark due to a dark drainage paid (I emptied them both into the same pail and couldn't tell after. I drained some from the block directly into a cup and it was dark pink).
In the mean time the temperatures have dropped to -10C (14F) for the last 2 days with temperatures in the minuses for the last 5 days. I didn't winterize my boat before the low temps hit.
Have I messed my boat up? I know I'm an idiot for attempting to do this myself. Is there something I can do at this point. Or do you think I've removed all water am ok at this point.
All help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Max
