This was a few years ago during better boating times, and my feeble attempt at an 'artsy' photo, but this IS my favorite boat-in-the-winter pic. Might not look like it, but it's sitting in 15" thick ice - except out back, I always kept a waterfall pump going under the diving deck to keep the stern area wet

Not as pretty as the Thalasso 's set up but it works. It wouldn't work here with all the winds off Lake Erie. I've tried everything without investing a hundred grand in a garage.

Had to use my Dad's Garage... mine was two feet too small, even then the tongue had 2" clearance from the door.

But it's done and put away from the elements of the Ontario Winters... see you in April/May old buddy.

My "Boathouse" "garage" cost me about 15 grand and I can fit 3 of my boats in it. The house garage takes the 4th. My son built a Pole Barn for about 18 grand and it houses his 25 footer. When you pay megabucks for a boat and consider the maintenance costs, plus the huge depreciation when it sits outside and looks like **** after a few years, the indoor storage is really pocket change.

I know Grand Island well, Mom is from North Tonawanda where I spent my early days and still visit.

Built a timber frame boat cover a few years ago. Have since added an addition and a lean to on the shed to cover the fleet.

I know you have vents in the cover, and I'm sure before it is wrapped you mop out the bilge so there is not even a drop of water, but come Spring do you have ANY mildew or mold? Even a hint?

Reminds me of the spring I took the wrap off my old Carver to find a big crop of mushrooms in the head

Some of you are blessed with the garages and pole barns!
My inlaws have a large pole barn and we would park our 19' Stingray in there however the 20' Wellcraft I feel is too big. It's a foot wider (very narrow doors) and the path there is very steep, muddy and narrow so we don't do it anymore.
