Hull repair on 69' ugly green boat

This boat was taken out sometime around '95 where it nearly sank. I inherited it and fixed it up mechanically, and from the inside I patched the cracks that had propagated in the fiberglass. I took it out twice and it worked fine, but on the third time the patch broke and we nearly sank. Now I'm grinding out the cracks and completely replacing the affected fiberglass. Below are pictures of what I started out with and how far along I am. Feel free to weigh in if you feel like there's something I should be doing differently.

I think you have to feather the area back further, laying glass in layers to build it back up to the proper shape, inside also. If you just stuff filler or glass along a straight run, it has no support.

Do you have access to this from the inside? If not, then it can still be done but it's a bit more work. It SHOULD Absolutely be done on both sides if you want to be certain it's not gunna open back up!

I no longer have access to the inside. I used to, but some of the work that I did on this was replacing the floor, so the floor has been glassed into place leaving me without access to the inside.

I think you have to feather the area back further, laying glass in layers to build it back up to the proper shape, inside also. If you just stuff filler or glass along a straight run, it has no support.

The glass is about .3/16 thick, so I took your advice and feathered it back so that there's 3" from the crack to where gelcoat starts. I ended up doing it this weekend. It's not perfect, but I think it'll hold water. It's certainly better than the first repair I did on this.
