Hi folks. Does anybody know the weight of a 1987 17 foot Invader 2804 bowrider with a 3 liter engine? Thinking about getting one, if I feel that my 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan can handle the weight. I have a 3500 pound towing capacity on the Grand Caravan. Tips, advice and comments appreciated.

Welcome to iBoats! :welcome:

You will be within the weight limits, but there are other factors to consider. If the ramps you use are not steep and slippery, you shouldn't have any problems. Adding an auxiliary transmission cooler is a good idea.

I will assume this is the hull you are referring to? A deep vee. I've seen the outboard version of it

I will guess the hull and engine weigh about 1900 lbs, the fuel and battery other junk another 300 lbs. probably came on a 2300 lb capacity trailer which would weigh about 450-500 lbs. That adds up to approx 2700 lbs. Your tow vehicle has a 3500 lb capacity including passengers and cargo, so you are getting close to the max

with a 31 year old fiberglass boat, make sure you weight it. the foam/stringers/transom could be water logged and you could be carrying around 800# of water....
