1992 Sea Ray 200

Looking at a 1992 Sea Ray 200...noticed that the sterndrive is not the factory Alpha I Gen II, but the SEI 116. Owner says about 10 years ago the OEM sterndrive gears burned up and they replaced with the aftermarket SEI116. Sterndrive has run for 10 years, anything I should be concerned about? Also dealer mentioned that WOT was about 4700 RPMS and 40 MPH's...does that seem about right? Overall boat has been owned by 1 person, serviced at the marina where they are selling? Asking $6k. Anything else I should be concerned about?

It's a 26 year old glass boat. Check for rot, then check again.

Drive and RPMs ok

Compression testing the cylinders and doing a seatrial as well to check the RPMS. Internet says for the Mercruiser 4.3 WOT should be 4400-4800 RPMs. Is there an expected speed I should be looking for too? Thanks in advance for all the expert advice. This has been a learning experience.

Exactly right. So many variables with conditions from , fuel, weather, wind to what's loaded in the boat to say what top speed should be. It is what it is.
