i have a cruiser 23' with a mercruiser 5.0 vortec engine 2 barren carb, bottom end is shot (2 windows on block) top end is good, my question is if i put a 5.7 vortec engine from a truck, suv, besides the plugs, can i still use the 2 barrel carb/intake? or it wouldn't be enough for the 5.7? do i need a cam too? can i use the 5.0 cam? or leave te truck/suv one? thanks in advance
trying to keep the cost down on fixing the boat, but on the other hand want to do it the best as possible with limited resources.(5.7 complete used $ 500)

Leave the truck cam

You need marine head gaskets and a marine circulating pump.

Carb will be fine for stock motor, however I would change cam to a comp cams XM270-HR and go with a 4 barrel intake and 650cfm 4 barrel

99% of boat motors are 2 bolt. Unless your building a stroker or blower moror, onlt a 2 volt is needed
