Hey All,

In need of some help!! I just bought a Neptune Mighty Mite III (?) 2 horsepower outboard. I am lost! I cannot find any information on this thing! I don't know what the year is, or the specs. I do know it takes 35-1 mixed fuel. Could really use a manual and/or any of your experience with this engine! Any tips or quirks I should know about?

I run a 1980's vintage 3HP Tanaka.....these motors are so simple you may not need a manual....just dig in there and learn it....super simple carbs, ignition, etc....

Dug into it last night, and you're right! Basically like a lawn mower engine! I am going to try to find a new ignition coil for it and see what happens.

Have you had any luck finding parts for yours?

I've owned 2 Tanaka 3HP motors....kept the old one for parts. If your motor is in good shape, runs well and you take care of it, you may not need many parts. I make my own gaskets, replaced the fuel lines, on/off valve and fuel filter with some clear plastic yellow colored tubing and chain saw on/off valve....

It wasn't running when I bought it. I am hoping to bring it back to life, and the first thing I want to try is a new ignition coil. Just don't know where to find one.
