Hey all I am trying to reupholster my side panels right now and the side with the shifter I dont easily see how to remove.

I found the exact one I have on youtube:

https://youtu.be/28mzhX7yC5s

There are 6 screws that seem to hold it but I also dont see how to get to the two center screws. If anyone has done this for a quicksilver shifter 1990ish please let me know :)

Side note, how easy/hard would it be to get rid of it and just replace with a fresher/newer one?

Thanks!

Mine was a little different and a bit older, so I don't know that this will help, but just in case - there was a set screw on the underside of the shifter. Once loosened, the plastic piece around the trim switch came off and exposed the screws behind it.

(edit) looked at the video again - mine has a trim switch in the center of where it attaches, it looks like on this one its some sort of lever lock and not trim, but that is where I am talking about..
