How to remove the 1987 Johnson 110 VRO Bubbleback exhaust cover?

HI! I have a new to me 1987 Johnson 110 VRO and I'm doing some preventive maintenance to it and checking everything out including all the electrical, impeller, thermostats ect and replacing what's needed before I take it to the water for a trial run.

How to remove the 1987 Johnson 110 VRO Bubbleback exhaust cover? it has a part of the gasket is leaking some water. I have taken out all the bolts and broke loose the cover, however with that bubbleback I can't get it moved out far enough to clear the exhaust manifold to get it out. I would appreciate any input on this.

The cover is in two pieces and the inner part has one long through bolt. Make sure you split it at the seam.

To gain clearance, you may need to remove the shroud under the pan and the two mounting lugs under the cylinder heads and pry the pan downward.

Yes, I do know this is a 2 piece section and I did split it at the seam. I only want to remove the bubbleback cover. I have removed all the bolts, however that 1 cover doesn't want to come out without a fight! or maybe It will not come out at all because of the crossover exhaust it has to come around and over but not enough room to do so. I have removed the shroud previous so I can access the t-stat housing blots easier.

I appreciate your help! I will keep investigating this may be there is something in the way I'm overlooking

Pull the lower cowl

You can see the one remaining bolt that holds the inner manifold.-----Back that out and the 2 covers will all fall off.

thanks for the input, however I will just leave it be--- I can get the gasket on the bubble back the way it is without removing it entirely. I don't need to remove the power head nor the exhaust manifold.

Well ----I think you should be replacing both gaskets !----Easy as can be.
