advice needed for new throttle/shift controls

I currently have a Quicksilver 3000 control on a 94 boat, 5.0LX Alpha 1 Gen II. some repair parts are no longer available. what is a suitable replacement for this old control? also what is the different between Gen 1 and Gen 2 cables? Thank you.

the outdrive is an Alpha Gen 2, would that indicate I have Gen 2 cables. the cable ends inside the control box are eyelets for screws. if that helps

Nope,..... The drive ends didn't change, just the controller ends,.....

so its not the actual cable end to the controller linkage, its the cable sheathing to the box itself. I have large black cylindrical pieces that are attached to the cable sheathing to hold/swivel the cable in the box housing itself. I do not see those on GEN 2 cables... I think I`m seeing the difference bow between the old and newer.
