I'm not sure what the reason is for 3 or more outboards, I grew up thinking 2 screws were in-case 1 shut down, you could still get back, what am I missing?
Horsepower... there are a number of 40+ feet outboard powered boats on the market. Takes lots of HP to push a 40 ft. boat in excess of 50 mphI'm not sure what the reason is for 3 or more outboards, I grew up thinking 2 screws were in-case 1 shut down, you could still get back, what am I missing?

wow , I need to find a new line of work
How else do you make the run from Va. Beach to fish off New Jersey then be back in time for weigh in?Gee, you need five 450HP outboards to take 3 people fishing?...
-------I am just as happy fishing in a 12" aluminum with a 1963 model 10 HP as I am on my 30' center console with twin V-6 outboards.--——
