Ok so I know the Small 4 stroke outboards tend to have condensation build up in them that produces a little of water in the oil. So here is what I have, a Honda BF8 Classic bought new in 08... I havent used the boat except maybe 5 times in the last 7 or 8 years. I am getting ready to take it out this year with anticipation of using more. I changed all the fluids and when changing the engine oil it came out clean but with some brown stuff in it. Sort of like what is left over after you deep fry so food. I flushed the crank case with clean oil a few times and got it to run a bit cleaner.

So I started it up on the hose with fresh gas etc.. it fired up second pull smoked a bunch an then that cleared up. Seemed to run like newish or at least what I recall it is supposed to run like. When draining the oil I had a little bit of milk and more of the brown substance..

Last year I ran it once and when I started it at home I had some oil coming out of the carb intake. I took it to lake and it ran fine. No oil out of intake last year after initial problems. I did not change the oil last year, and the previous years it was serviced professionally

I am very familiar with the water in oil as years ago I blew up an outdrive that was not serviced correctly. this definitely did not look like that...

So what are the opinions on this situation? I was going to do a compression test but my tester doesnt have an adapter for the small Honda hole.
