Can some please help me. I'm new to boats and trying to identify these things on a old chevy 305 outboard.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... The twins are solenoids for the tilt system, 'n the single appears to be a slave solenoid for the starter,.....

On a OMC stringer outdrive,.....

Looks like there is a crack above the starter. It appears to be a 72-73 model. You are looking at some wiring problems.
If the engine is totaled you can replace it with a 350, along with a new set of manifolds.

That was my plan. Are these manifolds not transferable to the 350? Btw can you tell me what the problems are with the wiring that you can see? I'm just trying to learn. The wiring Is a bit overwhelming. There's wire running every f'in where. Err..

Thanks for the info Kenny that's a start. I'm concerned that once I get this bad boy turn down I will not get it rewire properly.

You need to get a genuine OMC service manual that will have the wiring diagram. The manifolds will swap but I would not trust them. Barr has replacement manifolds. The engine has the early 2 piece rear seal so you want to stay with the same style of block because the you also want to be able to re use the flywheel and coupler. The model you have had a problem with the drive shaft rusting into the drive shaft coupling which made it almost impossible to remove the engine.

Well that's very encouraging. Thanks for the great news! Ok, so let me ask you. What and why would you not trust the manifolds? Is there anything that I could do to make them more useable. FOR NOW, I'm trying to do cheap repairs until I get this thing on the water to know what I got. If Its highly advisable I will, but would prefer not. Thanks for you insight. I'm not a boat guy and it's very appreciated. Oh, btw if I have that problem getting the motor removed from drive shaft
is there any advice on a method that may help?
