How do I remove this prop but retainer?

I cant seem to pry up the tabs on this retaining washer with a screwdriver anyone else have one like this? Am I missing something?

Mine have holes in them. I use an o-ring pick to bend them back, might work for you ??

Mine have holes in them.

that is a newer style retainer that is made from thinner steel, op's is older and much stiffer

op: channel lock slip joint pliers work best, hooked end under tab and adjust jaw to fit backside of prop nut and pry up

Thanks guys, I almost bent a thick screwdriver trying to pry them up, they ar very thick as dubs says and I also cant get a good angle due to depth inside prop. I'll Try the pliers per dubs advice, can't quite picture it but I'll keep messing with it.

For future readers with the same problem who may happen upon this post, here is how I got using Dubs advice, hooking the bottom edge of plier jaw on the tab I was trying to life. Those things are tough!!
