well, I finally did it. I bought my first boat, a 79 Del Marina. It was a real steal for a 15' Tri-Hull with a 50 horse Mercury, fishfinder, bimi
and trolling motor and oh yes...a new trailer. Took it out with my son for two days of playing. It was too cold to catch any fish, (at least that's my story) but we had a blast playing..in rain and snow and occasional sunlight.

Just a small issue...ran great, electric start and allot of fun. Tried both the torque and speed props..really cool for $1000. Just a wobbly front seat...might need to reinforce the floor a bit......

Just a crack...I'll cut it out a little and see...

well...no wood left..that can't be good...let's look at the back section....

Ouch..I'll make the hole alittle bigger..

looks like allot of mulch that used to be plywood and an unbelievably saturated bunch of foam...

Well, I've been doing some reading and today I'll be cutting the entire floor out, digging out all the foam, checking the stringers and transom and will replace any rotted wood stringers or transom, put in a new floor (epoxy coated of course) and re-glass the floor. It also give me the opportunity to design, build and install a new dash and control panel, add a permanent gas tank, oil injection and reconfigured storage, a bilge pump and new seats won't hurt anything either. Sooo, my "great deal" will double in cost, take a month of work and I'll have a blast doing it....what a deal...I'm already having fun.....stay tuned sports fans

Oops. I got a bit agressive and cut a 2" slot all the way thru the bottom while grinding out the old flooring. How do I patch this. there is a 2" slot thru my gelcoat on the bottom of the hull?
