replacing minn kota 565 foot cable

I have a minn kota 565 trolling motor that has a stiff cable. I want to lubricate it or replace it, but ca't get it out of the motor head. took the screw out, but won't budge. Does the cable screw into the head?
Can anyone give me advice?

Did u ever figure this out? I have a 599 with both cables n need of replacement. But cannot find anything about the direction cables
