Bought a boat and would like a easy gps/navigation unit to buy
Thinking of the garmin 95
Would it be good?or any other recommendations?$1000 or under

Need more info... Where do you boat? What are you using it for? (navigation, fishing, both?) What boat is it going on?

The Garmin 95 is an OEM release.
You should be looking at an Echomap series 93XX or 94XX depending on location

The 93 series has “lake” maps the 94 series is tidal water.
SV is side view
DV is down view
CV is compromised close out

I use boat on st Lawrence river around Cornwall Ontario to Quebec and sometimes into U.S water’s ,mainly use it for pleasure cruising,it’s going on a 206 Larson senza bow rider.

It is.... but the 95 is an OEM (base) release. Not marketed in the US. Sold in Canada with the optional Canadian lake Vu software installed.

You could buy a Canadian lake Vu chip and install on any unit

Thanks I do live in Canada so the 95 with preloaded Canadian lakes and rivers should do the trick
