Buying a Lowe 182 Ultra Fish & Cruise

Hello everyone. My name is Joe and I am new to pontoon boating. I have a deposit on a 2021 Lowe 182 Ultra Fish & Cruise. Of coarse, I decide to buy a boat and none are available and there are no deals to be gotten. Does anyone have any comments about this particular pontoon? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Not that anyone has responded to me yet. Forget the Lowe; I found a Sun Tracker Bass Buggy 18 instead. Not sure if I made the right move.

What motor did you get with it? Get the biggest motor you can get you using it in small bodies of water.

Yes, I did get the largest hp motor allowed for that boat. 75hp. Does anyone put a larger than recommended engine on their boat? I remember my dad had a fishing boat that we would take into the Florida Everglades. The motor on that boat was much larger then the boat should have had. That boat felt like it was completely out of the water when he would open it up. I know my dad was a little reckless; so it might not have been the smartest thing to do.

That is what I meant recommended biggest motor for your size pontoon. I got the 20ft. pontoon with the recommended biggest motor Sun Tracker love it. Some buy with the small motor cause price is way lower but are not happy with the performance of the pontoon after the fact. Did you get the trolling motor setup also?

I did not get the trolling motor set up. I was going to get it on my own. Do you have any suggestions on the trolling motor?

Yes just hooked up a Terrova 55 on my pontoon works wonderful plus has a built in ff. in the head. Also with the spot lock you can sit in one spot without having to drop anchor loving it.

The dealer has a 24V Minnekota Power Drive for $500. Do you think I should get it from them?

If it had the spot lock on it heck ya if not no. Spot lock is the bomb no need to drop a anchor.
