Clogging exhaust down tube?

Ok, so after accomplishing idle on '89 OMC 2.3, I can hear something wanting to boil from rear exhaust beyond manifold and riser...and then boggs hard when I accelerate and dies???

Any ideas please?

Think maybe your engine is overheating? What's temp gauge reading?

Obviously, my friend that is why I am seeking info as to extracting the the downtube and attempting to restore it....or sourcing and replacing it...

I just don't know how difficult such will be as I certainly do not want to pull the motor if I can avoid it...any ideas out there?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... The down pipe can't be changed without removin' the motor 1st,.....
