Wrap a chain on it and pull with a come along. Tapping it with a hammer as you pull.

I'm thinking your gimbal bearing is held in place by a snap ring. If so have you removed it?

Since we have to guess what brand of stern drive has a death grip on the gimbal bearing, I moved it to the Mercruiser section. A good guess?

A serial number would be helpful.

Clean the area around the bearing to see if there is a snap ring. You may have to turn the engine with the shaft to get access to the ring if one is present.

I have tried I 3000 pound which attached to it andnits not budging
It must be a DEAD STRAIGHT pull. If you're off, even by a few degrees, it will lock up, and untamed equestrians won't move it. (also get the snap ring out)

Untamed equestrians! Ha!
Sounds like something Tea'lc would say!
Actually he did say that in one episode!

being a 1969 with an in-line 6, the drive should be an MC-1

pull the snap ring.

how long has the drive gone without the annual maintenance?
