Good morning all, I have trolled around the shadows for a bit here trying to chase a hot starting issue and figure its about time to join. You guys have all been a wealth of info so far and I appreciate you very much for that.

In my search for parts and such I seem to have difficulty when searching using my engine model, SX-M and wondered what is the closest model to that which will produce a better search result. It is a 5.0, 305, fuel injected and is red. Any ideas?

SX-M is your outdrive model, not engine model.

Engine model most likely 5.0GXI-something.....
Should have a tag on it that states the model number.

The engine specifics are generally put on the top of the spark arrestor cover on a sticker. Secondly you can find a riveted block tag on the port back side of the engine block. With that number you can obtain specific engine information. You will need to know specifics of your block to obtain the correct parts.
