Bought a used 2008 LS230 Crownline. Only 150 hours. Only things I need to address is both the speedo and depth gauges don't work. I can see the built in sending unit when boat is on hoist but not sure how to see if its he issue.

On Speedo, people are telling me to look for a hole in lower unit that measures speed of water entering. I have an inboard 5.0 Merc. I see the tube that leads to gauge but cant find inlet.

Also a factory tower came with it (not installed) and of course previous owner didint have bolts/etc. How can I find them?

Greetings . . .

The speedometer works off of water pressure . . . on the leading edge of the outdrive lower unit there is a small hole. On the top of the forward ventilation plate where the horseshoe anode is located there is a plastic fitting that should connect to a tube. that tube leads up into the boat and connects to another tube that leads all the way up to the speedometer.

You will need to make sure the hole in the leading edge of the outdrive is clear of debris and that the tube(s) are all connected.

As for the depth gauge . . . see if there is a switch on the instrument panel for the depth gauge. Some may be wired to the boat's ignition switch. Otherwise, you will need to find a troubleshooting guide for the depth gauge itself.

You are on your own as for finding hardware for the wakeboard tower.
