Hello, I have a slight leak from the drain plug area. Very slight weeping. If I would take a guess, it is about a cup of water every two days or so.

Problem is that the boat is in the water and I do not want to pay the haul out and haul in fees to fix the garboard properly.

Any "in water" solutions out there? I've thought about the JB Weld Waterweld putty.. just smashing it into that area.. thoughts?

Happy 4th of July tomorrow to all my friends in the south!

If your plug is leaking, you can tighten it, with a simple swim. They are tapered, so a tightening job should stop plug leak.
For the fitting leak, Westmarine used to sell a caulk that could be used underwater. I bought some, but never tried it. You would need to smear it over the leaking area in the bilge.

They probably still sell it.

Yeah, I'll try tightening it first. I couldnt be certain exactly where the water was coming in.

I've never tried it but for a tempy fix in an emergency I've heard people use the wax from a toilet seal to plug a leak. I'm guessing you'd need to apply it from the outside of the leaking area.
