I have the slightest of surges on my port 2002 496 Mag HO. When I hooked it up to my Diacom software, the IAC percentage seemed to be below 40% but the TPS at idle is showing 0.12% and surges to 0.25% and about 0.55V at idle. Could this be the TPS starting to show some signs of wear and needing replaced. No codes are present and engine guardian show 100% power. It also seems that this port engine sometimes gets stuck at a higher idle and if I shut the engine off then re-fire the idle is corrected. All of the other sensors seem to be working correctly or within spec. The starboard engine show the TPS at 0.00% at idle and about 0.52V. I was also thinking that cleaning the throttle body and changing the IAC muffler might help if it's dirty.

Hi there. Under what conditions does she start surging? At idle ? Cold and warm ? Or just after a run and warm ?

If its just slightly above idle 7 to 800 rpm, might just be the nature of the beast. Another member here and one on OSO seems it an issue with programing by Merc

Has it been doing since new or just start?

Was thinking that too AD. So many things can do this on an mpi. Temp sensor making her over fuel slightly. Leaking poorly sealed fuel filter drawing air. Iac or sticking throttle body. But most likely a fuel issue I’d think.
