Drive availability

Anybody know the background to shortage of drives ?

My 280-C-N Needs replacing
a DPS replacement approved under warranty … in Dec told, 3 months wait, in Jan told 3 months wait, this week told 3 months wait … with no commit to any actual date.
Rumours seem to be that casting manufacturer used by VP is no more and move to a new supplier going to delay stock significantly …
New boats sitting there waiting for drives.

If they had to make / perfect new molds it will take time.------Not everybody can perfect these methods overnight.

Been waiting 2 months just for seals for my VP thru Volvopentastore (iboats)

Some ov my work customers have been waiting 4 months for engines

I assume you can still use your corroded drive , maybe swap after the upcoming season …

Yes …. I had thought of this being done outside of season … that not going to happen.
Another month gone by .. and advise is still the same, 3 month wait.
