The HDS9 Live Lowrance Fish Finder came with a 3 & 1 transom mount transducer, it works fine with the exception of having to slow down to 2 or 3 KTS before it picks up the bottom.
How can I improve the speed I travel and still see what's happening?

Jerry/Thanks

Hard to say with out seeing where it is mounted. Is it mounted so high that it is out of the water at moderate speeds? Is there something directly in front of it causing turbulence? Need a picture to help. Also take a look at; https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors....E/HUM_productmanual_Transducer_RG_532651E.pdf
Thanks,

I'll take a good look and see if it's mounted to close to the engine, I may be able to move it over some.
Just like to increase the speed of travel and still see the bottom fish, after I make an adjustment I'll post whether or not it made an improvement.

Sometimes you have to fine tune the location, angle etc so they work at speed.

What transducer are you running?

If you talking about a side or down scanning transducer, not working about 3 kts is a feature...... says so in small print at the bottom of the page....;)
