Help identifying an outboard motor

Hi all,

I'm new here and hope this question is acceptable. I just bought my first project boat. It's a 1992 Bayliner Capri. It has an outboard motor which appears to be a Mercury I believe. It says force 120 on the cover and "II" is also mentioned somewhere on the cover.
The sticker on the bracket is completely wiped and there's no way to tell the model of the serial. I'm trying to identify the exact model and year so I can look up its specs. I want to pull it out of the boat so I can't even tell its weight if I don't know the model, not to mention sourcing for parts might be tricky without a model as well I assume.

I'm posting pictures of the motor in hope it can help somehow identify it or at least narrow down the options. If there's any way to identify it without the sticker information I'd love to hear about it (there's no riveted plate that I could find).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Regards,
Yarin.

Post a pic or 2 of the lower unit??
The 5th pic shows the coils and pack, under that on the block is a foundry stamp. The year is stamped in the center of the circles foundry stamp.
Was it a package deal ? Boat and motor sold as a package??
The starter might have a date on it(if it's never been changed) ?

Mercury Thunderbolt ignition, might be 1992 or newer.
If it has Mercury style LU it is 1995 or newer.

Those first few years after Mercury bought Force, were a mess, with Force parts, Mercury parts, different ignitions, fuel pumps, fuel enrichment valve, force model numbers and Mercury serial numbers , 3 different power trim models, different fuel recirculation systems. And thats just 1992 !
Some years had 35 different models for the same motor.

Your motor has :
fuel enrichment valve
wiring harness with screw terminals
Mercury ignition
and the old style Chrysler Force fuel pump.
All 1993 and newer came with the square Mercury fuel pump.

Your motor is a 1992 model.
I believe it is a 92C model.
