Looking up Stern drive parts by stern drive serial number

Ok I'm replacing my outdrive. the original outdrive serial number was 0C308736 the replacement is 6757836. Both drives are 1.5 Ratio, but I think the replacement is older and requires a different impeller. When I put in the outdrive serial number 6757836 nothing comes up.??? The boat is a 1990 Maxum 5.0LX 4bbl the engine serial number is 0C774718

On some websites try adding a 0 in front of the number and your stern drive parts should come up.

Serial number 06757836 comes up as model number 01507014 making the stern drive year to be 1984 Service Literature for MERCRUISER MC1 1.50:1, https://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/2203.cfm?mdl=1SW0XR

Apt investigation. Two possible base/lower seal assemblies are available for your drive.

One is "taller" and seals accordingly with the driveshaft pin under load. The other style utilizes gear cut/load to operate. One base is blue, tother is black.

Your original drive is an Alpha One, the replacement is an 'R'. The impellers are the same (from about 1969 to 1990). What's different is the impeller housing BASE, everything else (housing, impeller, plates and gaskets) are the same.
