Has anyone removed the catalyst manifolds on the newer 6.2L Mercruiser 300/ 350HP engines (NOT the older GM block version)? Have close to 700 hours on my 2018 and thinking of replacing them with Stainless Marine/ Hardin Marine/ etc. Curious if anyone has had any success in doing this? I know they make a module that plugs into the O2 sensors once removed.

So only issue with removing catalyst is alarm beep since post cat o2 sensors won't read correctly with no Cats. So two options remove catalyst and cut siren so you dont hear beep or buy module that simulates O2 mv signal to PCM so alarm isnt generated. The only requirement with your new headers is you must be able to install your pre-cat O2 sensors. They are what dictate the fuel/air ratio.

Enjoy cooler exhaust temps, no more failed post o2 sensors, and impossible to damage the $2K cats since they will be in your attic or basement.
