Hi I have the same year and motor in my Chris craft also with carb I’ve been fighting with for a year now it won’t go past 2800 rpm I’ve rebuilt the Carb twice now new fuel pump new wires cap and rotor checked In tank fuel pick up also check to see if exhaust flapper were stuck but it didn’t have any I see now my trim sending unit has been replaced with and after market one and the person left the plug disconnected so my trim gauge always says it’s up so I grounded out one of the pin connectors and I got my gauge to go to the down position I’ve done some research and I believe the motor won’t let you go full throttle while the out drive is in the up position but I can’t find anyone who has had this problem yet I’m going to try it this weekend and I let you know if it works
