I have 1996 25 hp Johnson. I ran the motor, didn’t realize it had gotten hot. Got it home, put water muffs on it and went to start it (push start-electrical) but nothing happened. So I jumped the solenoid and it cranked. I assumed the solenoid was bad and bought a new one. Put it back on, but still nothing. No crank. I can jump the solenoid again and it will crank. The push button is new.

Can anyone help??

Checked the fuse ?-----Model # of your motor ?----Is it 2 or 3 cylinder ?

Test wires from push switch for continuity. Is wire hooked up to soloniod correctly? Why do you say motor got hot? Did you melt a wire?

The pee hole where water comes out was barely squirting. I took a picture of the old before I took it off, this way I had a diagram ti go off of.

Pee hole could be plugged, doesn't mean it got hot. Starter button worked before? If so, wire or fuse most likely. Racerone wanted model number, maybe he's on to something. Post model number.

Sorry mate----I can not see , hear or feel your motor.----And I do not know what you know about 12 volts and wires.-----I step aside.

where is the fuse located?

Number 85 is your fuse on your main wiring harness.
