I purchased a Barr MC 1 860235 manifold and have a question about the carb gasket. I am mounting a Mercarb 2 barrel on the manifold and the manifold has a hole with no divider so if I use the gasket that came with the manifold, the divider on the gasket would have no support so might have a chance of eventually getting sucked into the intake? Does anyone have experience with these or can give a recommendation?

I had this same experience on my 3.0 when i rebuilt the carb. Factory had used a two hole gasket with no support from below. My carb kit came with both gaskets so installed the single hole gasket thinking it would be ’more better’… cannot explain why but with the single hole gasket the idle mix screw didnt respond normally, very little turning mad huge adjustments not the normal 1.5-2 turns out… changed the gasket to a two hole and it worked normally. makes no sense to me but had the boat 20 years and it never sucked a gasket in
