Choke clicks but my ignition does nothing when turned.

Hello I recently change the ignition on my 1974 70hp Johnson motor. The only thing that gets any activity is the choke now. I’ve hooked up the ignition according the oem diagram, is there a step I’m missing?

welcome aboard

start at the battery and clean every terminal between the battery to the motor and back. that includes the grounds, and the mounting pad for the starter to the block.

by clean, use 150 grit and make it shine like the queens silverware.

Neutral start switch in the control box ?----Ground wire on the solenoid ?
