Revolution 14.6x19P vs 3-B something?

Current Props are 4-blade Revolution 14.6x19P both Left and Right hand, twin OB
Looked the props up and these are over $1K each and are stainless steel

Looking at others like Enertia ECO 3-blade 15x21 are X7 alloy and findings say they are 30% stronger then SS

Also looked at Marage + and Hill Marine

Thinking that the larger the diameter the less drag and more bow lift. Don't see needing all the stern lift from a 4-blade. More docking control with larger diameter and more pitch

The rev 4 s are crazy expensive now. different application but i run one on my 21 ft sea ray And really love it. Biggest advantage in my application was being able to use full trim with out blowing out. Gave me slightly higher top end and lower slip than an enertia ( standard enertia not eco). really impressed with the rev works But you need some power to swing it.

best part was i bought it used for $300 off ebay…

Just be forewarned they prop rattle like no other….. ended up going to a third party rubber hub to quiet it down a bit.

Was think of going back and putting my Offshore Renegade 4 blade back on for a while to compare it with the Enertia I’ve been running for 3 years now.

I gained @ 2.5 mph and dropped 10 percent off fuel consumption with the Enertia but I get a heck of a stutter (for lack of a better word) right before getting up on plane. Guessing I’m over powering the prop for that split second.

Thanks good info. Right now it takes 2 seconds to get on plane and I'm still in the break in hour range.

AD . . . how are the current props (Rev 4's)? I was never able to save up enough of my weekly allowance to buy a Rev 4, back in my single prop days.

One thing of note is that you will be going up in both diameter and pitch with the Enteria you mentioned. Do the engines have the extra ponies to turn them at the WOT RPM spec range?

Are you trying to address the lack of grip in reverse around the dock?

My rule of thumb has always been 2 pitch up from 4 to 3 blade, or 2 pitch down from 3 to 4 blade.

My motors are 250HP each and they should be able to reach 6K RPM but have had them a bit over 5K just for a few seconds but didn't want to push it just yet. There is plenty of power, I can be running at 45 MPH and give it bit more and your back in the seat again

ok, you may be right in this case but then again maybe not. Either way all good we all find out in time

I usually look at both the diameter and the pitch. The # of blades is also a factor. . .

Most of the time, you just have to try the prop to see the difference.

AD. I think that even like for like same pitch, going from a rev 4 to enertia eco…the enertia might likely show less rpm. And certainly going up 2” in pitch on one…would quite certainly drop rpm. Don’t have any real experience with the eco. But I know for sure that generally the rev 4 has a bit higher slip at the very top end, compared to same pitch tempest plus or enertia normal version. Figure that if the eco has similar characteristic and especially with the big diameter they have. I might be making sense.
