Marinepower Vortec 4.3 White/Red wire jumped together

Can anyone help me figure out what this wire is for and why the previous owner has them jumped together? Not sure if it’s a white/red wire. That’s what it looks like to me but looking at wiring diagrams I’ve only seen a yellow red wire mentioned. Thanks!

Where abouts in the harness is this,..??

Marine power. I’ll have to take a closer look at the harness later to tell you where it is

Looks more Yel/Red to me, and if so could go to neutral safety which is bypassed

With a inboard there will be a switch on the trans mission.

If used on a I/O then leave as is and go from key start pin thru shifter then to slave relay
