Clipper circuit?
I take it you mean a diode bridge?
A DC bridge is simply opposing diodes that filter the AC out of the output from the stator. The bridge is either intact or it's not

I’m sorry I didn’t explain the question very well. I am struggling to understand why in the original repair manual it shows a clipper circuit ( or that’s what it is called in the manual) but I have a newer mechanics manual that shows the clipper circuit done away with. I have it wired without the clipper circuit with all new electrical parts. I was wondering if I needed a different rectifier if I included the clipper circuit as the original manual shows. Thank you for any help you can give me on this!

The clipper circuit was there to protect the amplifier/pulse pack from high voltage spikes. CDI said to remove the clipper circuit when installing a new amplifier/pulse pack. But they didn't say why. The only logical explanation I can come up with is perhaps CDI built voltage spike protection into their replacement units.
But has nothing to do with the rectifier.
