Dropping lower end

Hey yall, I recently purchased a boat with an 89 Johnson 48spl. Motor runs great sounds great, but. Something came loose and or broke in the lower end. My question, where on the motor do I pull pin slide rod or what have you to drop the lower end out. I am unsure of exactly where it is. Any help would be excellent. Thanks!

Remove starter motor and you will see the wee bolt / pin.

Best to find a "factory" service manual for your motor, it will show how things come apart and go together as well as give specs and and trouble shooting help.
