Sea Ray Sundancer 1980 prop size

My boat has dual 228 V* engines. Two new Pre-Alfa legs. Props put on with the legs were allright but not perfect 14" x 17 pitch. Has been suggest I use 15" x 15 pitch. Anyone have any ideas on what I should have??

My Sea Ray was built in 1980. entered service in Australia 1982.
The two engines are Mercruiser 228. Legs are Pre-Alpha.

Hard to tell still have not updated tacho's but I think 2200 RPM

We need to know what RPM’s at full wide open throttle (WOT). Until you know that, you are just shooting in the dark.

Have just pulled the engines out to rebuild the exhausts and engines.
Once we have them back in will also have Tacho's that work. Was hoping not to have to pull her out again but probably no choice. Thanks for the help

If you are only getting 2200 RPM, either your tachs are reading 1/3 the RPMs they should, or your motors are shot.

Prop the motor so you get to 5000 RPMs with good motors
